Illness + Healthcare

I have a lot of experience providing supports to people with chronic illness, experiences of medical trauma, health anxiety and those providing care in the healthcare field. These experiences can be overwhelming. You might feel that they have created a future that feels uncertain or scary. Or they might make you feel different or isolated from friends and family. Or the stress of every day life might just feel impossible with the weight of your experiences with illness, trauma or other interactions with the healthcare system.

I offer a supportive space to explore how illness and other medicalized experiences have shaped your story, your sense of self, and your relationships. I also bring lived experience to this work, having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a teen and having worked providing care in this field.

When we start working together, many people begin to notice a shift in how they relate to both themselves and their illness, trauma, anxiety or healthcare experiences. Therapy can offer a space where the emotional weight of these realities no longer has to be carried alone. Instead, we can build understanding, coping strategies, and ways to live with greater steadiness and meaning.
